Here are some great photos from my recent trip to Pierre where I went hunting with Team Outdoorsmen Adventures.

Gary Howey from Team Outdoorsmen Adventure hosts a weekly outdoor television series called Outdoorsmen Adventures that you can see here in Sioux Falls on KTTW Fox-17 Saturday mornings at 6:30am and Sunday's @ 7:00am.
Outdoorsmen Adventures is an award winning television series and continues to be one of the highest rated series in the upper Midwest. In January 2009, they'll begin they're 14th season bringing you some of the finest hunting and fishing that can be found in the U.S. and Canada.
Be sure to watch KTTW Fox17 Saturday and Sunday January 17th and 18th -- the episode that we filmed will be airing on these dates. It'll be my first TV appearance "without makeup!"
Gary and his hunting partner Larry Myhre, former editor of the Sioux City Journal were my gracious hosts as we enjoyed all the hunting the Pierre area offers. It was my first trip to Pierre - and my goodness ... I was impressed. What a beautiful area ... and I couldn't believe the hunting, it was GREAT!
Here's Larry Steffens, our guide for the day on Saturday, me in the middle and Gary Howey on the right. We hunted Canadian Geese from pit blinds. Good thing we were in a pit 'cause the temp was hovering around 5-degrees all day long and the South Dakota wind was blowing from the north at about 20-30mph all day. It was COLD! As you can see, our aim was true and we downed our limit of big ole' geese!

If you ever want to book an excellent waterfowl, pheasant, or fishing expedition in the Pierre area, contact Steffan Brothers Outdoors Expeditions - they'll treat you right.
On Sunday we headed north of Pierre to hunt Cody Warren's property. He promised thousands of pheasant and ducks. He did not let us down. Here's Outdoorsmen Adventures host Gary Howey and I with a nice collection of ring-necks.

Later in the day Sunday we hunted ducks over a flooded field on Cody's property.
A 2000 foot deep artesian well pumps water directly up from the ground at about 120 degrees - so it doesn't freeze. The ducks love this area! Here's Cody Warren and I, a few mallards ... and Babe, the retriever.

What an amazing hunt this was -- I can't thank Gary Howey and Larry Myhre enough for their hospitality. A big thanks to the South Dakota Board of Tourism for handling our arrangements for the weekend at the Pierre Ramkota. Oh, and I can't forget to thank our camera man Kyle - he's a wiz with the Sony HD in sub-zero temperatures.
If you have a hunting lodge or guide business and are interested in having Team Outdoorsmen Adventures come film an episode of their popular outdoors television series, drop a quick email to Gary Howey to check their schedule.
And if YOU have a favorite hunting spot you'd like me to check out - drop me an email! Tom.Mitchell@kelofm.com I'm always up for a new adventure!
